Open Print Competition – 18th November 2013

This was our second print open competition of the season. In between the two was a PDI open. Whilst the Intermediate category had a full entry the Advanced category seemed to be a little lighter than is usual. I know that some members in this category were away on holiday during the time entries had to be submitted. Our judge for the competition was John Royle ( CPAGB ) who had come over from Nantwich. He was presented with quite a variety of images. Landscapes / seascapes…

Richard Weston – portrait session practical night

Richard Weston – was invited to the club to provide a presentation on portrait lighting and posing on a practical night. Part of this being due to it being an open competition round meaning the subject matter and style of the entered images would make it impossible to directly compare images. Emphasis would be made on the stadium and punctum…

Roger on the panel – Roger Hague DPAGB

It has been quite a few years since we last had a ‘panel of’ competition at the club. With the return of a competition round on the 10th March 2014 that is dedicated to panels Roger was invited to share his thoughts and experience. Before Roger started I let him know that my using a ‘phone during his presentation was to make notes that would form the basis for this blog post. He was openly happy for people to be taking notes. So, here is…
