Practical workshop 30/09/13

Following the questionnaire at the end of last season showing that members wanted more on close-up and macro photography, this session was aimed at those areas. There were four setups, two flash and two with Lupo HMI lights. Various objects and sets were available for members including items that they brought with them. Colour Management – Getting it ‘right’ at the start – White balance

Open print competition – September 2013

With this being the first competition of the season there was much anticipation and some nervousness. Last year, Steve Geary, a newcomer to the club but not new to photography competitions, clearly announced his arrival going straight into the Advanced category and he had a very strong year. MCPF Portfolio

Congratulations go to a number of club members for having their images selected for this year’s Midland Counties Photographic Portfolio 2013. Pride of place must go to Steve Geary with his Highly Commended colour print – Chesil Beach. Steve was also had successful acceptances with ‘Challenging for the lead’, ‘True grit’, ‘Jonny Worcester’, ‘Making the bend’, ‘ Is there anybody there’ and ‘Into the light’.   Also successful with acceptances were George Robinson, David Slade, Andrew Tomkinson, Shelagh Tomkinson, Richard Bryant, and Cliff Hughes.
