Information About the club

Blythe Bridge Camera Club was founded in 1950 and is affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain through the Midland Counties Photographic Federation.

Blythe Bridge Camera Club is situated in North Staffordshire to the south of Stoke-on-Trent and is the place for discerning photographers to meet. We are a friendly and accommodating club and welcome all abilities from the beginner to the more advanced photographer.

We have a full programme lined up for the season including PDI competitions, members nights and virtual talks. Some of the highlights of the club is our main programme, which takes place on a Monday at 7.45pm with some of the top lecturers from all parts of the uk, to present for us. We also hold competition nights that will include helpful critique to help us all. The club will also have external competitions against other local clubs.

If you have never been before don’t worry visitors and new members are always made very welcome. If you are coming for the first time, why not let us know and we will ensure that someone will be there to meet you and show you around.

As with other clubs in the MCPF ( Midland Counties Photographic Federation ) we are a ‘not for profit’ club. Many of our speakers are Nationally and even Internationally recognised speakers and judges. These aspirational presentations are backed up by our club member nights, practical nights and competitions.

For the competitions recognised judges from the PAGB ( Photographic Alliance of Great Britain ) pass their constructive critique of all of the images as well as ranking the top 7 images.

We try to provide a blend of both visual and practical inspiration and assistance to help members improve their photography. Last season there were images taken on a mobile phone that were entered in the competitions. It isn’t about the equipment, it is about the image and the enjoyment. It doesn’t matter if your camera is your phone, if it has interchangeable lenses or not, if it is new or old or if you use JPEG or raw. What matters is people enjoying the experience of moving their photography forward.
